Lagos APC flags off campaign for LG polls
THE All Progressives Congress (APC), officially flagged off its campaign for the July 12, 2025 local government elections at the Lagos State APC secretariat in ACME, Ikeja.
Among the 57 chairmanship and 376 councillorship candidates presented with party flags, is Ajose Kumayon, as the APC’s standard-bearer for Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA)
Kumayon is an exceptional leader with proven grassroots credibility. He was unanimously elected through transparent primaries overseen by the state electoral body in the presence of security personnel.
Kumayon emerged victorious as the APC chairmanship candidate for Olorunda LCDA. His primary victory reflects deep community trust and solid party support in line with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s campaign ethos of “not just winning, but changing lives.”
Kumayon has pledged prioritisation of education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment, mirroring the tenets of democracy as echoed at the flag off ceremony.
In order to ensure victory at the upcoming local government elections, he is determined together with party leaders to coordinate grassroots campaign. As the lead candidate, he will co-chair campaign committees at ward levels, working with LGA leaders through
Mobilization and outreach, door to door canvassing, town hall sessions, and engagement with diverse groups — women’s organisations, market associations, youth to galvanise support across Olorunda.
