Ex-convict nabbed for robbery, drug, 3 days after release from prison
A 29-year-old ex-convict, Matthew Simeon, has been arrested by the Ondo State security outfit, codenamed Amotekun, for alleged armed robbery and drug-related offences, three days after he was released from prison for the same crime. Simeon was paraded alongside 28 other suspected criminals arrested for various offences, ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearms and theft among others. The state commander of the security outfit, Adetunji Adeleye, said: “In the last week, we were able to arrest 29 suspects that were involved in different forms of security breaches, which range from kidnapping, armed robbery, housebreaking, shoplifting, stealing of motorcycles among others.” “The corps also arrested a 29-year-old Mathew Simeon, who left the correctional centre on January 1 and got arrested again on January 4 for the same offence he was previously jailed. “One issue of note is that in all of such instances, we always have a recycled criminal.
