How truck crushed 2 students, Motorcyclists
THE Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua community has been thrown into mourning as two of its female students lost their lives in a ghastly accident involving a motorcyclist conveying them and a truck loaded with Pepsi drinks. It was gathered that the two students identified as Abasifreke Okon, from Ikot Abasi Local Government Area and, Irene Edwin, from Ibesikpo Asutan LGA were National Diploma (ND-2) students of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT). It was gathered that the two friends and coursemates were going to gather materials for their practical examinations, when they met their untimely death. The State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Mathew Olonisaye, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Uyo, disclosed that the motorcyclist conveying the students also died instantly in the accident.
