Covid: 571 confirmed cases, 12 deaths in Nigeria

  On the 23rd of February 2021, 571 new confirmed cases and 12 deaths were recorded in Nigeria Till date, 153187 cases have been confirmed, 129943 cases have been discharged and 1874 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory The 571 new cases are reported from 21 states- Lagos (170), Ogun (65), FCT (45), Kwara (34), Abia (32), Enugu (32), Kano (25), Oyo (22), Ondo (21), Rivers (19), Kaduna (19), Benue (18), Bayelsa (12), Kebbi (12), Nasarawa (11), Akwa Ibom (9), Delta (8), Ekiti (6), Niger (5), Bauchi (3) and Imo (3). Beware of fake Coronavirus vaccine, PTF warns

Mustapha warns Nigerians not to patronize black market CHAIRMAN , Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Coronavirus Pandemic, Boss Mustapha has warned Nigerians to beware of fake Coronavirus vaccines outside, saying that they should not patronize uncertified vaccines in the black market. Mustapha gave the warning during the PTF news conference in Abuja yesterday. He stated that Nigeria would soon receive four million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines. THE Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is to collaborate with the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, to initiate and implement programmes that would enable  youth to realize their potentials for national development. This is as the Ministry said it is committed to actualizing the thematic contents of the National Youth Policy to create champions of  youths.  Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, made this commitment when the Country Director of the UNFPA, Ms. Ulla E. Coronavirus: 15 die in Lagos, as total death rises to 1862 in Nigeria

ON Monday February 22, 2021; 542 new cases of Coronavirus were confirmed, more COVID deaths were recorded with Lagos recording 15 of the 23 reported deaths across the country. According to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, total deaths in Nigeria have increased to 1862, from 1839 on Sunday. Death in Lagos now rise to 399. The other eight deaths reported on Monday occurred in FCT, Abuja, Kano, Osun Kawa and Sokoto. Osun recorded three fatalities to increase its death toll to 48. The FCT death toll also rises to 142, with two new deaths. Kano, Sokoto and Kwara recorded one fatality each. Kano, the most populated state in Northern Nigeria, now has a death toll of 103, the fifth highest after Lagos 399, Edo 158, FCT 142, Oyo 106. How wife killed husband for receiving phone call from mistress

As Man beats wife to death in Lagos A housewife, Queen Beatrice, has reportedly killed her husband, Emmanuel Ikukuni, with a plank for allegedly receiving a phone call from another woman in her presence in Okitipupa council area of Ondo State. Also in Lagos, one David Idibie is currently in police custody for the murder of his wife, Juliana Idibie, at their residence over matrimonial issues. Sources in Omotosho, Ondo State said lkukuni slumped after his wife hit him with a plank and before help could come from their neighbours, he gave up the ghost. An eyewitness said: “By the time the neighbours could rush the husband to a nearby hospital he had died." Speaking to newsmen, a sister to the deceased, Imoleayo Ikujuni, confirmed that the wife challenged her late brother for calling another lady in her presence.
