2 dead as security personnel, bandits engage in gun battle
A team of security personnel, yesterday, engaged a gang of bandits in a gun battle at Tse Gaagum village in Ukemberegya Council Ward of Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, killing two and recovering arms and ammunition from the gang. It was gathered from a source in the area that the armed men, who have been terrorising communities on that axis of the state, stormed the village at about 4 am, shooting sporadically to take people hostage and dispossess them of their belongings. However, a member of the community was able to alert security personnel, who stormed the community and engaged the gang in a gun battle.
