2 men arrested for gang-raping 12-year-old girl
THE Minna Chief Magistrate's Court One has ordered the remand of two middle-aged men in Correctional Custody, Minna for allegedly gang-raping a 12-year-old girl. The two suspects, Umaru Hussaini and Zulkibilu Musa, reside in Sabon Gari area, Kagara, headquarters of Rafi Local Government Area, Niger State. They were said to have lured the girl to the room of Zulkibilu Musa where they allegedly raped her one after the other. Police Prosecutor, Inspector Bello Beji, dragged the two suspects before the court on a two-count charge of joint acts and unlawful sexual intercourse with a child. This, he said, contravenes Section 79 of the penal code law and Section 26 (2) of Niger State Child Rights Act 2021.” The prosecutor also told the court that one Lawal Haruna of Sabon Gari area of Kagara in Niger State reported the case to Kagara Divisional Police headquarters that the two defendants lured his 12-year-old daughter to the room and gang raped her one after the other.
