Afenifere rejects Tinubu's victory, insists Obi won
THE pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, yesterday, insisted that the February 25 Presidential election was won by the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr. Peter Obi, and not the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. This came on a day the National Chairman/Coordinator of Team Prosper, Mr. Shehu Bankole-Hameed, warned politicians trying to foment violence, due to the declaration of Tinubu as the president-elect, to desist from such acts. But Afenifere, however, said it supports Obi’s decision to challenge the results of the election in court. Afenifere, in a communiqué issued by its National leader and Secretary General, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Sola Ebiseni, after its Special General Meeting, held, at Isanya-Ogbo, Ogun State, denied sending any congratulatory message in the name of the group to any candidate.
