Gunmen kill 3 police officers
TENSION, enveloped Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, as gunmen reportedly attacked a police station in the area, killed three police officers. A community source said the gunmen, who stormed the station in their numbers, overwhelmed police officers on duty at the station. Meanwhile, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, said the hoodlums did not attack the station, adding that the officers died during an exchange of fire with the gunmen. He said one of the suspects has been arrested. Edafe in a voice message said: “Today (Sunday) at about 4.40 hours, men of Okpanam Division while responding to a distress call, were ambushed by unknown armed hoodlums. And they killed three of our personnel. “The command has been able to arrest one of the suspects, who is helping us with useful information.
