Breaking: Legendary reggae star, Ras Kimono dies @ 60

Nigerian Music Industry loses reggae star,  Ras Kimono Nigerian legendary reggae star, Ukeleke Onwubuya, popularly known as Ras Kimono died at 60. Kimono died on Sunday June 10 at  Lagoon Hospital, Lagos. Kimono was said to have concluded plans to travel to United States before he took ill on Saturday night and was rushed to a hospital at Ikeja, where he was later taken to Lagoon Hospital at Lagos Island. The Delta born super star's debut album  Under Pressure  led by him and his band 'Massive Dread Reggae Band' in 1989 brought him to limelight. His other albums such as  Rum-Bar Stylée  and  We no want  also added to his fame in music industry. Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) also confirmed his death on their Instagram page: “COSON deeply regrets to announce the passing on of a frontline member of our board, great African and great musician, the reggae toaster, the great Ras Kimono Onwubuya.” During his life time, Kimono was an advocate of social change,

CRIME GUARD: RRS rescues graduate from ‘one chance’ bus robbers By Temitope Adedigba THE Lagos State Police PRO, SP Chike Oti, has advised public not  to be dragging with armed robbers. The advice came after a graduate of Lead City University, Ibadan, Liberty Whitney was rescued from the hands of bus robbers, popularly called “one chance”, by the team of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS of Lagos State Command, in which the driver of the bus driver was shot dead. According to Whitney, "l boarded a commercial bus with other passengers from Oshodi to Mile-2. On getting to Rainbow Bus-Stop, two men boarded the bus and pointed guns at us. While other passengers were screaming and jumping down from the bus, I was held back by one of the robbers. When I made another attempt to jump down, another robber pointed a gun to me with the threat of shooting me if I didn’t comply. “They asked for my phone, bag and money. When I was reluctant, he hit me on my chest with the butt of his gun.
