Lagos: Cholera spread decreases
•As no new deaths recorded in 3days •Investigation reveals source of outbreak Lagos State Government, yesterday, announced a significant improvement in daily Cholera cases, stating that it has not recorded any death from the disease in the last 72 hours. The state government also disclosed that there is evidence of ongoing low-grade community transmission, due to few cases in hospitals. The State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, who disclosed these while providing an update on the cholera outbreak following the "One Health" Inter-governmental agency strategic meeting held over the weekend added that although no new cholera-related deaths have been reported in the last 72 hours, the government was intensifying countermeasures to completely eliminate transmission.
