How Policemen smashed driver’s head over N200 bribe
Stories that touch the Heart Delta State Police Command, had arrested five of its personnel who allegedly beat up a commercial bus driver and broke his head over refusal to part with N200 at a checkpoint. It was gathered that the driver, Godwin Akpama, was conveying some female traders in a bus with registration number, AKL 681 YP from Abraka to Sapele when he was stopped by the policemen at a checkpoint along Eku-Abraka Road in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state. Recounting his ordeal, Akpama said: “One of the policemen had stopped me at the checkpoint demanding that I give him N200. I told him that I was only conveying women selling Garri to the market.
