Komone’s killers were said to have dismembered her body and taken some vital parts away. Her death has brought to the fore, growing security concerns over alleged human parts merchants in the area. Patience (fondly called Pat), a single parent to an undergraduate daughter, was one of the petty traders, who trade on fresh pepper and sundry vegetables. She had joined other traders to Umeh market on that fateful day of Tuesday, July 27, but did not make the journey back to her base in Warri with her colleagues.
