Some Nigerian returnees from Libya came without kidneys, biles — NAPTIP
*Says over 20,000 trafficked Nigerians rescued in 20 years THE National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, yesterday, disclosed that some trafficked Nigerians rescued from Libya had their kidneys, biles and other organs harvested without their knowledge. This is just as it has disclosed that over 20,000 trafficked Nigerians were rescued and brought home by the International Migration Organisation, IOM, in 20 years, with 604 persons convicted. The disclosure was made by the agency’s Director, Intelligence Training and Manpower Development, Dr Arinze Orakwue, at the opening of a three-day training and capacity development orientation on Standard Reporting Template for members of the Trafficking in Persons,TIP, media corps and officers of Press and Public Relations unit, in Ikeja, Lagos.
