Online learning hitches: UNILAG advises students on traffic control

Image
FOLLOWING the hitches that trailed the first day of the online learning system adopted at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, the management has advised students on what to do to ensure a seamless experience on the platform. This followed the observation that many students found it hard to connect with the platform on Monday, the first day of its use. According to the Head of the Information Unit,  Mrs Olufadeke Akinleye, on Tuesday, the hitches were as a result of many students wanting to access the facility at the same time, even when it was not time for them to attend any lecture. A public notice titled "Observations from day one of online learning and recommendations to students," said not all students were expected to access the facility at the same time. NASS should respond to calls for restructuring — Soyinka

Image
*Says many people would have been in prison for corruption if Buhari’s govt hadn’t run out of steam Nobel Laureate,  Prof. Wole Soyinka, yesterday urged the National Assembly to listen to the calls for the restructuring of Nigeria and take responsibility towards the effect. His call is in consonance with the Presidency which had repeatedly asked agitators for restructuring to channel their clamour to the National Assembly, being the representatives of the people. Such regional groups as the Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, its counterparts in Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, and the Middle-Belt Forum have been very vociferous in the call for the nation’s restructuring. They had often argued that the National Assembly was not better placed to restructure the country, since the 1999 constitution currently in operation and which the lawmakers are applying, was not written by the people but a select few. However, Soyinka, who spoke on AIT’s Kakaaki program

They had made several distress calls but their cries were melodious songs in the ears of relevant authorities that should come to their aid. Ibarapa, an agrarian community, whose means of livelihood is farming, has about seven towns and cities.  The towns are Lanlate, Eruwa, Igboora, Idere, Ayete, Tapa and Igangan. Apart from the fears of being kidnapped, maimed and killed, they were forced to abandon their farms thereby, exposing them to hunger. So, it is better imagined how elated they would be when someone, came out of the blues and offered them help that had hitherto eluded them. Sunday Igboho, whose mien could deceive an
