Navy intercepts over 200 bags of cannabis
Attempt by a gang of sea robbers to convey 200 bags of cannabis through the Lagos water channel to the land, at the early hours of Monday, has been foiled by personnel of the Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS Beecroft, following the interception of the illicit substance. The gang, according to the Commander, NNS Beecroft, Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga, during a press conference at the NNS Beecroft, Apapa, Lagos, yesterday, escaped on sighting the personnel approaching. He attributed the interception of the illicit substance to the state-of-the-art maritime awareness domain facility technology, which detected activities of the sea robbers around the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos.
