Gunmen attack NIWA officials
One of the victims attacked by gunmen. FIVE officials of the Nigerian Inland Water Ways Authority, NIWA , are presently receiving treatment for gunshot wounds at hospitals in Anambra State. It was gathered that three bullets were extracted by the doctors from the neck of one of the officials, rushed to the Nnewi General Hospital. Vanguard gathered the workers, who are members of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, MWUN, were attacked last Wednesday at Otu Junction, Nnewi South, Anambra State, on official assignment. Confirming the incident, President-General of MWUN, Prince Adeyanju Adewale, said: “They were travelling in their official NIWA branded Hilux when they were attacked for straying into Biafra land in a Nigeria branded sport utility vehicle.
