LASG closes schools, as anti-SARS protest worsens

The government has directed all students in public and private schools to stay at home. The closure was announced by Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, in a press statement issued on her behalf by Head of Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Kayode Abayomi, yesterday to all media houses. According to the press statement: “The Lagos State Government has directed all pupils and students in public and private schools to stay at home following the tension generated by the anti-SARS protests. “A new date of resumption for all classes will be announced as soon as possible.” Adefisayo added that “the safety of the pupils, students, parents and all staff working in schools is paramount at this critical period”.
