Property worth hundreds of millions of naira were reportedly destroyed by fire around Lagere area of Ile-Ife, Osun State The incident, which started at a popular filling station on Tuesday, reportedly spread to other property surrounding the station, including a student hostel, a shopping complex and a commercial bank. While no casualty was recorded, property worth hundreds of millions of naira were destroyed and some people sustained injuries. Explaining the reason behind the spread, yesterday, Osun Fire Service spokesperson, Adekunle Ibrahim, said a five-ton gas cylinder behind the filling station exploded when the fire incident started.
