FIVE persons were,Tuesday night, crushed to death by a truck on Epe/Ijebu-Ode Expressway in Ogun State. According to spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, who spoke to newsmen in Abeokuta, an empty white Mack truck with no registration number caused the accident due to excessive overspeeding. “An empty Mack truck caused the road traffic accident due to excessive speed. The Mack truck was travelling from Epe, crossed the median and hit into a JB truck moving inbound Epe, and also crushed a commercial motorcycle on the same lane,” he said. The truck was said to have lost control and rammed into an empty Benz low-bed JB construction vehicle and a commercial motorcycle The remains of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode.
