Three elderly individuals were shot dead in a suspected case of murder and conspiracy in the Yovoyan community, Gberefu Beach area of Badagry, Lagos State, on April 1, 2025. Confirming the incident, Lagos Police Command spokesperson, Mr Benjamin Hundeyin, said the attack was allegedly carried out by Charles Atideka, who is now deceased.  According to police reports, Atideka allegedly opened fire on Muji Onilude (75), Richard Atideka (70), and Charity Atideka (59). All three victims were confirmed dead at the Badagry General Hospital shortly after the attack. He said: “Two of the victims were his relatives. Preliminary investigation indicates that they were scheduled to testify against him in court. To prevent this, he killed them and fled. Unfortunately, he  was arrested and rushed to the hospital the next day where he died.
