Police corporal in detention over dereliction of duty for 9yrs
*Promotes self to SP rank lCase under investigation —PPRO THE Police Command in Cross River State said that it has arrested and detained a corporal, who had failed to report to new station in Kaduna State Commsnd since 2015. The detained corporal, who was alleged to have been carrying out illegal activities using his uniform in Calabar, the Cross River State capital was also accused of impersonation. The corporal, Buba Adamu, who had since promoted himself to the rank of Superintendent of Police, SP, was said to have been transfered from Cross River Command to Kaduna State Police Command in 2015. Adamu is said to have been operating as a “mobile police officer” without any supervision nor reporting to a specific police command since 2015. During this time, he has been receiving his salary despite not reporting to his new station.
