Ijora Bridge collapse: We’re suffering Apapa, Ajeromi residents
RESIDENTS of Apapa and Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government areas of Lagos have lamented the continuous suffering they undergo daily, following the collapse of the Ijora bridge. According to the residents, the collapsed bridge has disconnected both towns from the outside world, plunging the residents into a nightmarish commuting ordeal. Some residents, while recounting their harrowing experiences, called for urgent action to rebuild the bridge. According to them, it was revealed that the collapse was a result of the actions of vandals. On May 16, the bridge connecting Lagos Island and Iddo to Ijora and Apapa succumbed to pressure and collapsed. According to investigations, the collapse was attributed to the malicious activities of vandals, who compromised the bridge's structural integrity.
