Odumboni LAGOS State Waste Management Authority, LAWMA, has signed a five-year agreement with the state PSP operators to enhance their operational activities and boost their confidence to reassure them of government’s commitment to their sustainability. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, who oversaw the signing of the agreement, which held recently in Lagos, said the state government was entering into a new phase of waste collection and disposal and would strengthen the sector and make it wholly manageable. The LAWMA boss said: “The idea of people dumping waste indiscriminately into drainage channels, water channels, the median and other unauthorised places must stop as it would be seriously frowned at, and offenders prosecuted. THE Federal Government has approved the extension of the deadline for NIN-SIM data verification to July 26, 2021. A statement jointly signed by the NCC Director, Public Affairs, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde and NIMC Head, Corporate Communications,  Mr Kayode Adegoke, said the decision to extend the deadline was made after a request by stakeholders on the need to consolidate the enrollment and NIN-SIM verification process, following the rapid increase in the number of enrollment systems across the country. The statement also indicated that the enrollment systems were now available across the country as at June 28, 2021, noting that this would significantly ease the NIN enrollment process and linkage of NIN to SIM. There were only about 800 such enrollment systems as at December 2020 until the recent increase. By Our Reporters THE Synagogue, Church of All Nations, SCOAN, has announced that its late founder, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, would be laid to rest at the church premises in Lagos, on Friday, July 9, 2021. But the committee on the planning of the burial was silent on TB Joshua’s successor. The burial programme of Prophet TB Joshua, who died on June 5, 2021, at the age of 58, is a weeklong activity. Addressing journalists on the programme, tagged: ‘Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Prophet TB Joshua (1963-2021)'. The fire outbreak, which occurred at the proposed new Kara market in Ogere Remo, Ogun State corridor of the expressway, resulted in traffic gridlock in the area, thereby, compelling traffic management authorities to divert vehicular movements in and outbound Lagos. It was gathered that a fully loaded 40-foot truck, which content could not be ascertained, had earlier around 4 a.m, fallen along the expressway, causing gridlock,  as it narrowed the road. Rafiu Olufunmi Olatunji who passed on after a brief illness on Monday night, has been buried amid tears on Tuesday morning. It was gathered that the late council chairman died after he suddenly fell sick and later gave up ghost in the hospital where he was taken for treatment. Olatunji was re-elected as a candidate of All Progressive Congress in the last primary council election held on June 22, towards the July 24, 2021 general Local Government elections. Tears, tributes as Olatunji laid to rest As the council boss laid rest Tuesday morning, at his residence in Sangotedo, Ajah, Lagos, tributes, eulogies and tears poured in freely.
