4 killed, 8 abducted as bandits attack farmers
Four members of farming communities at Dantsuntu and Nahuta in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State were reportedly killed by bandits during a raid, while eight others were abducted. A source stated that one of the farmers, who managed to escape received gunshot wounds. According to the source, “the suspected bandits attacked the farmers, opened fire on them, thereby killing four and injuring one. They also abducted eight others." A survivor, who pleaded anonymity, said on phone that the attack was among numerous others in the communities, which have made life so difficult as the locals could not access their farms to harvest potatoes and other farm produce. “The bandits came while our farmers were on their farms harvesting their crops when the assailants struck on Saturday. They encircled the area and started firing from all corners. Some died, others escaped and about eight could not be found,” he alleged.
