4 killed, 5 wounded in accident

 

Remains of the Lexus automobile that was hit by a trailer in the Arepo area of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in an accident that claimed four lives. Commercial motorcycle riders (Okada) traveling one-way on the expressway with five passengers were also involved in the collision.

Four passengers were killed, while five were critically injured in an accident involved a trailer and a Lexus 350 car in front of Rabade Filling Station in Arepo, Ogun State.

It was gathered that the trailer, which was traveling from Lagos to Sagamu, struck the Lexus, which then struck approximately five individuals riding motorbikes (okadas), which were traveling one way on the road.

According to a witness, individuals on the motorcycle and a few persons in front of the gas station were struck; "four died and five other people were injured."

He continued by saying that motorists have been urged to avoid taking one-way trips because numerous lives have been lost since the Lagos-Ibadan expressway project got underway a few months ago.

Easter: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

THE Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026, public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.
