Lagos doctors suspend strike
By Joesph Temidayo Doctors on the aegis of Medical Guild in Lagos State, have called off their three days warning strike yesterday. The doctors had embarked on a three-day warning strike on Monday, over wage disparity between the Federal Government doctors and state, non-payment of hazard allowances, disengagement of doctors at the isolation centres and two months’ salary arrears, among other demands. Announcing the suspension of the strike in a communiqué, issued after a virtual meeting of the doctors, the Chairman of the Medical Guild, Dr. Oluwajimi Sodipo, said the strike was suspended to allow for further negotiations with the state government. He said the medical doctors resolved that the three days warning strike should be suspended and work resume by 8 am on Thursday July 16 2020.
