THE Managing Director of Tunmicro Diagonistic Medical Centre, Doctor Ismaila Sule Olatunji, has advised individuals to have frequent check-ups in order to prevent fatal illnesses that could shorten their lives.

The medical expert made the call during the commissioning of the centre at Olowora Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos recently.

He said: “People should give priority to their health by regularly visiting hospitals for medical check-ups and preventive care to stay healthy always. Preventive care will also save you from common chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, etc.

“We are dedicated to offering the public high-quality healthcare services. Also, to enlighten people on sickle cell and genotype prevention.

“In Tunmicro we are offering free sickle cell and genotype test for children under the age of 18 years”, he said.

On the importance of knowing one's genotype, Dr. Olatunji said: “It is a way of protecting the younger ones’ future from having children that have sickle cells. Healthy children have brighter futures.”

He continued: “You don’t need to fall sick before you do medical check up test about your health condition. It is necessary to have medical check up periodically, if possible twice in a year to know your health status and prevent terminal diseases that culd cause sudden death.

“But if you are a sick person, visit us at Tunmicro, we will do all pathological and diagnostic tests including prostrate cancer to know the root cause of your ailment and its solution.”

“Our services include comprehensive laboratory test, paediatric blood test, infections disease test, nutritional and genetic test, as well as preventive health screening.

“Other services we render are bacteria infection test, liver function test, kidney function test, protein and cholesterol test, some specialist diagnostic test like prostrate cancer, cancer anti-agent test, infertility test.

“We can examine ovulation period of a woman who is looking for fruit of the womb. Likewise, it is very important for pregnant woman to have comprehensive test and be attending antenatal and medical check-up regularly before delivery. Because they can be infected before they deliver, which is very dangerous to their health and the unborn baby

On how Tunmicro is reaching out to the public, Dr. Olatunji said: “We partner with hospitals that do not have equipment to refer their patients to our centre. Also we partner with companies, schools and individuals that needs our qualitative service. We are also planning to partner with government hospitals like LASUIT, LUTH, and private hospitals.”
