Court remands woman for biting neighbour’s scrotum

A Magistrates Court sitting in Ile-Ife, Osun State, has remanded one Nifemi Ajayi, 28, for allegedly biting her neighbour’s scrotum.

Nifemi was docked before the court on a count charge bordering on assault occasioning harm.

Police Prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, informed the court that the defendant on  August 24, 2021, at 21, Oke-Soda area, Ile-Ife bit one Olayera Boluwaji on the scrotum around 8 pm.

He added that the defendant also bit the victim’s stomach and inflicted injury on him.

Osanyintuyi added that the offence contravened section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge levelled against her.

Defence counsel, Mr Philip Fasanmoye, in his oral application urged the court to admit the defendant to bail in most liberal terms, saying she would not jump bail, but would produce credible surety to guarantee her readiness to face trial.

Presiding magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, declined the oral application and ordered her counsel to apply for bail formally.

He ordered that the defendant be remanded at Ilesa prison and adjourned the matter till November 15, 2021, for hearing.

Culled from Vanguard.
