I'm on rescue mission to safe Nigeria — Atiku
*Officially joins ADC at Jada Ward LGA
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has formally registered as a member of African Democratic Congress, ADC,
At a brief but epoch making ceremony, Atiku said: “It is the beginning of moves marking a decisive national rescue mission aimed at ending the misrule of All Progressives Congress, APC.”
The registration, which took place at noon in his Jada I Ward, Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, drew large crowds and high-ranking party stakeholders.
Atiku, who recently emerged as the leader of the ADC, arrived at the ward centre in company of senior party figures, including Adamawa State chairman of the party, Shehu Yohanna.
He completed his registration amid applause from supporters and party faithful who described the moment as historic and transformational for the ADC.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, Atiku said his official entry into the ADC signalled the start of a strategic political realignment to unseat the APC.
He noted that Nigeria was facing an unprecedented governance and leadership crisis, warning that the country had reached a tipping point.
He said his registration marked the beginning of a coordinated effort to rescue Nigeria from the rudderless leadership that had brought her to the brink.
He noted that the APC’s ineffectual leadership has exposed Nigeria to danger, which put the citizens at the receiving end of an existential crisis threatening to consume the nation.
The former vice president called on Nigerians to rise above ethnic and religious sentiments and join what he termed a “national vanguard” dedicated to restoring stability, prosperity and good governance
Also speaking at the ceremony, Adamawa ADC chairman Shehu Yohanna, described Atiku’s registration as a watershed for the party.
He said the development would consolidate unity, strengthen internal structures, and reposition the ADC as a credible alternative to both the APC and the PDP.
“Atiku’s entry into the ADC is a major boost that will deepen cohesion and enhance our prospects, ahead of future elections.
‘’With this renewed spirit of inclusiveness, the ADC is now the party to beat in Adamawa and across Nigeria,” Yohanna said.
