2027: Why I returned to APC — Adediran

THE 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor,  has returned to the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying he returned to the APC based on the capacity of the party in winning elective positions for its members.

Announcing his defection at a media briefing held at Liberty Place, Adeniyi Jones Street, Ikeja in Lagos, Adediran expressed confidence that APC will win the 2027 polls both at the national and state levels.

He said: “Since resignation from PDP, we have engaged in very wide consultations with our political associates and teeming followers and supporters across the state. We have equally had a series of engagements with various political interests and parties across the country in our quest to choose a platform for the expression of our vision and aspiration for the betterment of the good people of Lagos State.

“In the process of consultation, we had crucial discussions with some leaders of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, All Progressives Congress, APC, African Democratic Congress, ADC, Young Progressive Party, YPP, among others.

“After extensive consultations with family, political associates, elder statesmen, supporters, and well-meaning Lagosians who share our vision for a greater and more prosperous Lagos, and in identifying that the primary reason a political party exists is to win elections and ultimately form the government to contribute to the welfare, security and total development of the people.”

the Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Seye Oladejo said: “It is a homecoming for him. He’s welcome home. We’re happy that he now appreciates the fact that Lagos State is still better and safer in the hands of the progressives who have enjoyed the uninterrupted trust and confidence of our people since the inception of this dispensation.

“We believe there’s sufficient opportunity for him to contribute his quota to the continuous success of our government and growth of our party. We are expecting more decampees in the days ahead.”
