Save our son, accident victim's parents beg public

THE parents of 22-year-old accident victim, Ayomide Mustapha Olaniyan, are begging Nigerians to save their son, who was involved in a ghastly accident and is now in critical condition in hospital.

Ayomide's parents are begging the public for financial support, saying that the victim needs over N15 million  for surgical operations, plastic surgery, hospital bills and medical expenses.

The parents said that they are now living from hands to mouth with nothing left for them as they have sold a lot of their belogings since the accident occurred.

According to the mother of the victim: “The doctor confirmed from the X Ray the damaged parts of his body in which his private organ cuts off inside. Both the structures, and ducts for the passage of urine and fasces from the body have been badly damaged and ruptured. Even his left leg was badly affected and now left at the mercy of doctor to perform plastic surgery on him to enable him walk again.

Explaining how the accident happened, the mother said: “Being that he is alive today is through divine intervention of God. Because the vehicle with full load of planks that he was driving from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State to Ibadan in Oyo State; on approaching Ibadan, had front tyres bust on high speed. In attempt to escape from the vehicle, his trouser hooked and he fell down.

The vehicle with full load of planks fell on him. It took hours before he could be rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital but was rejected and later, he was taken to University College Hospital (UCH), Emergency ward, Ibadan. Where he was attended to and first surgical operation was performed on him. But for the inability to cope with high cost of his treatment in UCH, made us to take him to Bembow Medical Centre, Aperin Road, off Aremo, Ibadan, where he is now receiving treatment. But he still need another surgical operation and plastic surgery”

Easter: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

THE Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026, public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.
