Dawodu: I’ll bring more projects to my constituency

Dr. Bashiru Ayinla Dawodu, member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 and candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, has promised to facilitate more development projects in the constituency if elected.

Dawodu appealed to the people of the constituency to vote for him and his party, to enable him to continue the good works he has started in the constituency.

He made the appeal during his chat with the community media.   

Dawodu thanked constituency members for their support and asked for their votes in the general elections.

According to him, “we appreciate the constituency people for standing by us.

“They will continue enjoying my service if I am given the mandate to serve again.

“During my electioneering campaign, I promised to sample community members’ opinions and provide for them what they lack. Sogunle town requested for secondary school, which I facilitated, and junior secondary school has now been constructed for them. Ewu community demanded for a hospital, where ultramodern medical and maternal centers were built for them.

“We shall continue our empowerment programmes to make sure everyone in our constituency benefits from it as long as this journey continues. It is my great pleasure to see that some of the beneficiaries of my empowerment have enjoyed improvements in their income and standard of living, as some of them have given testimony to it”.

Dr. Dawodu has proved to be a kindhearted and worthy representative since he was elected into the Federal House of Representatives in 2019. He has carried out many projects, including empowerment, infrastructural development, financial grants, and youth capacity building.

He has proven to be a quality representative for his constituency since the inception of his tenure as a lawmaker, has been recording giant strides in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I, in fulfillment of his electoral promises.

Dr. Dawodu promised that more projects are in the pipeline for the constituency. He sought the support and cooperation of the constituents, saying that “only through togetherness can we all make Oshodi-Isolo great.

"This is a promise made and kept. My effort is a way for me to give back to my community because I, too, received a scholarship from primary school to a high school."

Economic Empowerment Schemes

Talking of his achievements, Dawodu said he has embarked on many unprecedented projects such as several empowerment programmes, infrastructure development, financial grants, and youth capacity building.

On empowerment, he organised training for the youths and gave them free tools. He distributed motorcycles and tricycles, sewing machines, hairdryers etc.

Also, materials and money were distributed to people to assist them in their various businesses.

Among the materials distributed to people are Motorcycles, Tricycles, Sewing Machines, hairdryers etc. Others are generators, furniture equipment, vulcanizing machines, pepper-grinding machines, barbing clippers etc.   

While thousands of constituents received financial assistance ranging from N20,000 to N200,000 to support their businesses.

On social intervention programmes, he gave economic support to some widows, elderly persons, and physically challenged individuals.

On poverty alleviation, he distributed free food and financial support to some indigent people in the community.

During the coronavirus pandemic last year, he provided free food and financial assistance to some needy people.

He organised training for the youths and women and gave them free tools, such as motorcycles and tricycles, sewing machines, hairdryers etc.

Education:

He has built classroom blocks and given educational materials to the pupils in his constituency.

Providing benches and tables for some schools. Helped in facilitating the establishment of Junior Secondary School in Sogunle town. Also, he built 40 classrooms in six government schools in the area, namely Mafoluku Grammar School, Mafoluku Primary School, Temidire Primary School, Wesley Primary school, Ewutuntun Primary School, and Local Government Primary School.

Also, he presented two school buses for convening pupils and students of the area to schools, He distributed school bags, books and other educational materials to some primary school pupils. He gave scholarship to some students of the constituency. He gave educational grant and free JAMB forms to some indigent students.

Also, he did renovation and built some classroom blocks in Wahab Larinde Primary School and Afariogun Primary School.”

Social amenities

“I have installed street lights in Adeyemi Street and we are extending it to other areas.".   

He procured and installed a 3,000 KVA transformer for the supply of electricity for the residents of Titilayo and Olowokere streets.

Dawodu stated that his priority is to improve the lives of people in the constituency.

He carried out rehabilitation and construction of roads at Rafiu Crescent and Lemo Street in Mafoluku.   

Health

Dr Dawodu has provided free medical checkups and facilitated the provision of ultra-modern medical and maternal centres in public health centres.

Dr Dawodu promised that more projects are in the pipeline for the constituency. He sought the support and cooperation of the constituents, saying that “only through togetherness we can all make Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1, great”.

Reiterating his commitment to improving the well-being of constituents, he stated that when people are engaged, society gains peace and economic progress while decreasing insecurity and crime rates.

According to Dawodu: “During my electioneering campaign, l promised to seek the opinion of every community member, what they needed most, and to provide it for them.

“Taking further steps and making sure that we leave no stone unturned, I have brought a junior secondary school to Shogunle community for accessible education of the children in the area”.

Dr. Dawodu who took the pressmen down the memory lane said: “Before I showed interest to contest for election, I have been carrying out community projects. I also facilitated several health programmes for my constituency people, where free medical checkups were carried out, and free drugs and reading glasses were distributed to them."
