Women critical to Atiku's victory — Adeleke


GOVERNOR Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, has stated that female voters are critical to the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the February 25 election. 

Speaking at the inauguration of Organising For Atiku Abubakar Development Agenda, OFAADA, in Osogbo, the governor urged every woman to embark on what he termed a ‘liberation campaign' against All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said: "The female folk are very important to the victory of Atiku Abubakar in the February 25 election. Your active participation in politicking speaks volumes of your importance.

"From this moment, you are all duty bound to start campaigning the good tidings Atiku's presidency will bring to Osun and Nigeria as a whole.”

Meanwhile, a representative of  Titilayo Atiku, Mrs Dupe Sanni-Adeleke urged women in the state to inform their neighbours of the importance of voting for Atiku as president in the forthcoming election, stressing that only the PDP candidate has the experience to revive Nigeria.

Oyo school kidnap: We can’t risk more lives in rescue efforts — Soun

Easter: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

THE Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026, public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration. The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government through  a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.  The minister, who congratulated all Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on the joyous occasion of Easter, urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.  He reiterated that the goal of the government remained taking decisions that would bring about national rebirth, economic growth and shared prosperity.
