Tinubu in Kaduna vows to eliminate kidnappers, killers

•Promises National Industrial revolution, completion of AKK gas pipeline 

•On Asiwaju's mandate we stand — Northern Govs

THE All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, has vowed to tackle insecurity by dealing with killers and kidnappers among others if elected. 

He also assured Nigerians of widespread industrialisation across the country.

Tinubu, who spoke at the party's presidential rally at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, Kaduna State yesterday, vowed to eliminate kidnappers, killers and other troublemakers terrorising the state.

"All those troublemakers, violent kidnappers, killers; all troublemakers who are disturbing the security of Kaduna, I assure you, we will eliminate them. Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna governor) has done a good job, go around Kaduna, you will see how organised, how clean the state is," the former Lagos State governor

Tinubu promised that Nigerians will never regret voting for him, noting that hope has arrived.

"In the name of our Lord, the magnificent, father of all, the ruler, greatest God Almighty that brought you here to acknowledge our party, to remain loyal to our party, you will never regret it.

"A leader without a good successor is not a leader.  Your governor he has given us a young energetic, and honest boy, Uba Sani, to become the next governor of Kaduna State. You will vote for Uba Sani, vote for Jagaban and vote for APC anywhere you see them. Hope is here, employment for the youths is here. We will do everything to ensure the young ones are properly employed," Tinubu told the mammoth crowd of APC faithful at the rally.

At the rally were APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; Presidential Running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima; host- Governor , Nasir el-Rufai;  and members of the party's National Working Committee, NWC.

Also in attendance were Governors Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara) and Simon Lalong (Plateau), who is also the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign.

Tinubu, who told the gathering that he was in Kaduna to seek their support to become Nigeria's next president, said he has the track record of bringing alive the hopes of the citizenry with "people-oriented governance," saying:  "With your support, my team and I will improve the economy, secure the peace, promote industry, grow more food and create more and better jobs for the average person.

"Given the opportunity, we shall reform the power sector such that light is brought into every home and productive work afforded every pair of willing hands. My administration will improve the education system for all our children including those who seem to have been rejected and forgotten with renew hope nationwide.

"Those who till the soil and grow our food will be helped to produce more and earn more. You farmers who feed this nation, your dignity and pride will be restored." 

On his plans to industrialise the nation, he said: "Our industrial policy will make industries hum again. Meanwhile, we shall give the youth the training, access and policy support to explore new economic frontiers in the digital economy and other uses of technology to create new goods and services that benefit the entire population.

"Our infrastructural policy will promote nationwide road and rail transport, enabling small businesses to easily transport their goods across state-lines and engage in productive trade throughout the land. Federal roads, especially the Abuja - Kaduna - Zaria - Kano Road, will be turned into productive and safe highways for travel and commerce.

"Bringing jobs and cheaper power for your homes and business, the AKK gas pipeline completion will be a top priority, helping to literally fuel the region's economy.

"We shall bring order to the mining industry discouraging illegal and dangerous mining, and promoting legal mining to bring better jobs, economic prosperity and security to Kaduna."

Tinubu noted these will help achieve his administration's goal of achieving a double-digit economy growth which will see "bringing the most talented hands on deck regardless of their gender, tribe, age or affiliation.

Earlier, Governor Nasir el-Rufai thanked the people of the North-West zone and particularly Kaduna State for the  massive turnout, saying they have shown where they stand in the 2023 race.

Governor Lalong , the Director-General, DG, of the APC Campaign,said Tinubu had travelled to Birnin-Gwari at night and commiserated with victims, saying the gesture was a sign Nigeria will be safe under Tinubu. 

He disclosed that it was in Kaduna that the Northern Governors sat and decided that power must shift to the South and AsĂ­wĂ¡jĂº Tinubu should be the next president, stating that on that AsĂ­wĂ¡jĂº mandate they stand.

National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu said "Kaduna is the heart of Arewa and the North. The North has spoken and there is no need for more talks." 

Atiku in Jos, promises to revamp economy

THE Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has promised people of Plateau that his administration would return peace to the state, revamp the economy and construct roads to link the state with its neighbours if voted into office.

He urged supporters that  gathered at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos for the PDP Presidential rally to continue to support the PDP and ensure the party continues the tradition where leaders like MKO Abiola, Olusegun Obasanjo, and others were voted into office after campaigning in Jos.

Atiku said, "We will return peace to the Plateau and empower the people. Your roads will be repaired. This is a homecoming for me, Plateau is my home, and I have been a resident here for 28 years.  I will revamp the economy and connect Plateau to other States through road construction. These will be visited by the PDP government if elected in 2023. Other roads such as Lafia-Shendam road will also be rehabilitated to enhance commerce..."

His running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa also appealed to Plateau voters to go house to house and campaign for PDP because we want to come out with huge votes for the party from Plateau State, and prayed, "it shall be well with Nigeria."

The Party's National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu presented the Party flag to the state governorship candidate, Caleb Mutfwang and his running mate, Mrs. Josephine Piyo, assured the Party would rebuild the country and the State if voted into office, reminding the people that "PDP started in Plateau State."

Diverse speakers at the event appealed to Nigerians to support the Party to win at all levels in the 2023 general elections.

Obi promises to turn Nigeria to producing nation

THE Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, has promised to move Nigeria from a consuming to a producing nation, among others.

Obi who stated this yesterday while addressing campaign rally at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, among others, said "It is a promise for I and my team are prepared to be held accountable for; that we will move Nigeria from a consuming Nation to a  consuming one.

"We will make sure that production starts from local level. We will increase minimum wage since the minimum wage today can hardly sustain workers. We should be able to produce enough for consumption and even export to create wealth.

"Good people of Kogi State, we are not here to buy your vote, we are here to tell you how we are going to save the country. We want to unite Nigeria, we want to bring the family back together, and we want to bring back the rule of law. We will consult you before taking any decision on any matter that affects you because power belongs to you."

He also promised to ensure that the steel industry is revived, saying "Steel industry is very important to the development of the Economy, therefore we will liase with professionals and experts who know what to do with the Ajaokuta Steel Company immediately we are sworn- in."

He urged the people of the state to reject other parties at the poll even if they bring money to buy their votes.

"If they bring money, collect their money but vote against them at the polls. Tell them we want to follow those who know road. Tell them that you're tired of being in the wilderness" he stated.

Speaking, the convener of "Bring back our girls" campaign organisation Aisha Yesufu who was on the campaign train said that Nigeria needs Peter Obi because he represents fearlessness needed to address the insecurities in the country.

"We are no longer safe in our own homes, we must vote for somebody we can hold accountable to provide good governance, our lives must be made to matter, we must vote for someone who can make our lives matter - Peter Obi is the one."

"Nigerian youths are tired of knowing someone before you can gain employment. Vote for inclusiveness, let's give Nigeria a president that is competent and can deliver us", Aisha Yesufu added."
