3 drivers, 2 passengers dead, others injured

A multi-vehicle accident occurred near the Cele Bus Stop on Lagos' Oshodi-Apapa Expressway killed at least two Danfo passengers and its driver, as well as the drivers of two private cars. Other passengers were seriously injured.
An eyewitness told The Harbinger News that a 40-foot container on a moving truck fell on a commercial bus called Danfo with the plate number AKD 469 XZ and two private cars at Cele Bus-stop along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos.
According to the source: “The container trailer was coming from Oshodi when the danfo driver was driven in a one-way direction; the trailer had a brake failure and crushed the commercial bus to the road divider concrete.
While one container landed on the danfo, the second container landed on the second car, which collided with the concrete on the express, and the third car collided with the trailer from behind. The truck also hit a section of concrete on the main road, which was pulled down”.
The source further stated: "Approximately five passengers on the bus that the container fell on were rushed to the hospital and confirmed dead."
The driver of the Danfo bus, as well as the occupants of two other private cars involved in the accident, died instantly. Three lifeless bodies were discovered on the floor near the scene of the incident. While the trailer's driver has been arrested by police,"
Meanwhile, officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were on the scene, assisting in the rescue of the victims.
The accident occurred around 1:09pm, according to a press release issued by LASTMA and signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Taofiq Adebayo.
