Sanwo-Olu seeks CDAs, CDCs’ collaboration to secure Lagos


GOVERNOR Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has charged Community Development Associations, CDAs, and Community Development Committees, CDCs, to partner with the state government to ensure continued safety and security in the state.

This came as he approved a security team for the monitoring of transport infrastructure and the enforcement of extant rules on the use of the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, regulation.

Sanwo-Olu, who spoke through the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Kikelomo Sanyaolu, said this while declaring open a two-day leadership training for members of Lagos State Community Development Advisory Council, LSCDAC, in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

The governor said: “No doubt, this year’s training is one of the many efforts of the State Government under the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to empower our Community Development Council, CDC, and Community Development Area, CDA, members to align their various CDCs and CDAs by the State’s plan for a greater Lagos; the Lagos of Our Dreams.

“In addition, it is part of the State government’s effort to drive the policies of this administration and replicate governance and leadership at the grassroots.”

Easter: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

THE Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026, public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration. The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government through  a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.  The minister, who congratulated all Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on the joyous occasion of Easter, urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.  He reiterated that the goal of the government remained taking decisions that would bring about national rebirth, economic growth and shared prosperity.
