THE member House of Representatives, representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1, Dr. Bashiru Dawodu has stated that his priority is to improve the lives of people in the constituency.
He stated this during the commissioning of some projects he carried out in the constituency.
Dawodu, who has proved to be a quality representative for his constituency since the inception of his tenure as a lawmaker, has been recording giant strides in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I, in fulfillment of his electoral promises.
He has carried out some unprecedented projects such as empowerment programmes, infrastructure development, financial grants, and youth capacity building.
Among the projects are the construction of 30 classrooms in six government schools in the area, such as Mafoluku Grammar School, Mafoluku Primary School, Temidire Primary School, Wesley Primary school, Ewutuntun Primary School, and Local Government Primary School.
Other projects carried out by Dawodu is the presentation of a school bus for conveying pupils and students to schools; distribution of school bags, books, and other educational materials to pupils, as well as giving scholarships to some students.
On health, Dr. Dawodu has provided free medical checkups and facilitated the provision of ultra modern Medical and Maternal centres in public health centers.
He carried out rehabilitation and construction of roads at Rafiu Crescent and Lemo Street in Mafoluku-Oshodi.
On social intervention programmes, he gave economic support to some widows elderly persons and physically challenged ones.
On Poverty alleviation, he distributed free food and financial support to some indigent people in the community.
On empowerment, he organised training for the youths and gave them free tools. He distributed motorcycles and tricycles, sewing machines, hairdryers etc.
He procured and installed a 3000KVA transformer for the supply of electricity for people at Titilayo and Olowokere streets.
In an effort to ensure a healthy and disease-free environment in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1, the Hon Dawodu women team led by Mrs. Onashile led other women in monthly cleaning exercises.
The ward to ward monthly environmental sanitation began at the constituency office situated at Rafiu Crescent, where a crowd of women was seen with brooms, packers, rakes, shovels cleaning the drainages, sweeping the streets and creating awareness for people to clean-up their environment.
Dr. Dawodu promised that more projects are in the pipeline for the constituency. He sought for the support and cooperation of the constituents, saying that “only through togetherness we can all make Oshodi-Isolo constituency great”.
In conclusion, Dawodu lauded All Progressive Congress, APC, leaders and members for their support and re-assured them of a good representation. He promised to do more to allow dividends of democracy reach other areas. He said: “I will continue to ensure that good things do not stop in this Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1, we will all enjoy the dividends of democracy.”
He specially thanked the Lagos State Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as Mc-Oluomo, for his support and always contributing to the peace and development of the constituency and the people.
Other party chieftains and community leaders at the event commended Dr. Dawodu for his selfless efforts in touching the lives of the people. They called for the collaboration of all the leaders in the area, saying that is the only way peace and progress can be entrenched in the constituency.

Among them is the royal father of the area, the Elewu of Ewu Kingdom, Oba Shakirudeen Adeshina Kuti. He commended Dawodu for doing a great job. He told the Commissioner for Housing, Maruf Akinderu Fatai that the constituency needs an estate. He urged parents to allow their children go to school. He said: “Education is very important. Don't allow your children to be roaming about, give them quality education that will enable them to fend for themselves in future.”

Mrs.
Okelola Oludare representing the Commissioner for Education said that
the state government has carried out over 1,000 school projects in
the state, adding: “Dawodu is complimenting what Lagos State
Government is doing by giving a bus, books and school bags to
students.”
The principal, Bolade Grammar School, Mrs. Ojo, said that the progress in the educational sector in Oshodi has made the school to be adjudged the best JSS school in the country. “We acknowledge the good work you are doing, keep it up sir,” she told Dawodu.
Mr. Ashaka Jacob representing the Chairman of, Lagos Service Commission, said that Dawodu is giving back to his constituency and ameliorating the challenges facing the schools. These are quite commendable. Among the challenges before the schools are the lack of books and other learning materials. She said: “We've to support our government in education, especially the prominent persons in the society.”
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, said that the greatest key we can give children is education. He said that the governor is passionate about giving quality education to all the children in Lagos State. Also, he said according to the governor, “I don't want any child to be left behind, all children must go to school and be able to read and write very well from primary three. What we are doing in primary schools, the result will soon come out for the interest of the people.” Omotosho commended Dr. Dawodu for the laudable projects he is carrying out in the community. He called other elected leaders to be carrying out laudable projects that can facilitate development at the grassroots level.
Hon. Saheed Animasaun, said: “Today is another glorious day for our party in Oshodi”. He appealed to all APC members to be in unity. “I believe they will carry us to the Promised Land, when we are in unity and cooperate with the leaders.”

Oluomo debunks factions in Oshodi
Meanwhile, Chairman, Lagos State NURTW, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as Mc-Oluomo has debunked the allegation of factions in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency1. He said, “Some are saying there are factions in Oshodi, it is a lie. No factions in Oshodi, the recognised apex leaders are one.
