Go for immunisation, Oshodi-Isolo boss tells residents

, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Council, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh has urged residents of the area to visit the nearest accredited Public Primary Health Centers for immunization of AstraZeneca vaccine.

The council boss made the call during the immunisation flag-off campaign of the vaccine at the council secretariat in Oshodi.

According to him, "The world has been subjected to turmoil with the outbreak of the novel pandemic virus which practically has birthed a new order across the globe.

"I am glad that in finding a lasting remedy to the pandemic, the medical scientists have been able to come out with this vaccine to improve the immune system in the fight against the spread of the virus.

"The vaccine will provide a huge relief to the vaccinated people, as their immune system will be strengthened."

Likewise, the council vice-chairman, Hon.Timothy Oluwadaisi Oso, who also doubled as Supervisory Councillor for Health, appreciated the relentless efforts demonstrated by the government at the grassroot level. He assured that there will be constant enlightenment to encourage people, especially the frontline workers to receive the vaccine.

The council Medical Officer, Dr. Ubani said the time we are now is the time for action, as it is necessary for people to receive the vaccine.

Also speaking, the Health Officer of the local government, Mrs.Aiyedun said the essence of the vaccine is to increase the immune system of the body in combating the virus.

She said further that the Vaccine is strictly for the frontline workers such as the Doctors, Nurses, Security Personnel, Airline staff, and others who play a pivotal role and are exposed to contracting the virus.

She enjoined the residents to continue observing all the precautionary measures in the fight against the spread of coronavirus, such as regular washing of the hands, use of hand sanitizer, use of facemask, and keeping physical distancing which are still very essential.
