Truck crushes Neigbourhood Watch officer








TRAGEDY struck, yesterday September 21, when a truck crushed an official of Lagos Neighbourhood Watch, along Isolo-Egbe Road, Ejigbo.

According to an eyewitness, "the deceased identified as  Osunde Kelvin, 38,  was riding a bicycle to resume afternoon duty at Excel College, the school, its building collapsed recently in Ejigbo area of Lagos.

"On reaching Powerline Bus-Stop, Ejigbo  to negotiate a bend leading to his destination, a commercial bus hit the bicycle. In the process, he was flung into an oncoming truck with number plate FKJ 240 AN, which rammed over him. Efforts to save his life was fruitless as he reportedly died on the spot .

"When the incident happened, no one made effort to arrest the driver of the  LT bus that hit him. Rather, everyone was  busy taking shot of the dead man on the floor, thereby creating an opportunity for driver of the LT bus to escape.

"The truck driver also abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Policemen from Ejigbo division later arrived, covered the deceased with a white cloth and evacuated his remains. They also took the truck away."

It was gathered that Kelvin’s mother died not too long, in an auto crash.”
