Naira appreciates to N386/$ in I&E window

The Naira, yesterday, September 7, 2020;  appreciated to N386 per dollar  in the Investors and Exporters  (I&E) window.  

Data from FMDQ showed that the indicative exchange rate for the window dropped to N386 per dollar yesterday from N386.13  per dollar  last week Friday, translating to 13 kobo appreciation of the naira.

The volume of dollars (turnover) traded in the window dropped by 49 percent to  $45.22 million from  $89.15  million   last week Friday.

However, the naira yesterday was stable at N441.5 kobo per dollar in the parallel market.

Oyo school kidnap: We can’t risk more lives in rescue efforts — Soun

Easter: FG declares Friday, Monday public holidays

THE Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026, public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration. The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government through  a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.  The minister, who congratulated all Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on the joyous occasion of Easter, urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance and love as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.  He reiterated that the goal of the government remained taking decisions that would bring about national rebirth, economic growth and shared prosperity.
