Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh has enjoined residents to imbibe the culture of planting trees and maintain a green environment for healthy living.
He made the statement during this year tree planting held at Owoseni Primary School, Oshodi.
The Council boss mentioned many benefits embedded in planting of trees, part of which is conserving environment, providing air quality, preserving soil and conserving water for the benefit of mankind.
In his words: "The commemoration of this year's tree planting is of value to everyone in the community however, we are dedicating the day to the frontline workers who have been risking their lives for the safety of all in the community and the nation at large".
Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu was represented by Mr. Saheed Sanusi, Assistant Director, Lagos State Park & Garden who on behalf of the state government appreciated efforts of the health workers in combating COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Trees were later planted by governor's representative, Mr. Saheed Sanusi, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Chairman, leader of Oshodi-Isolo Legislators, CDC chairman, etc.
