Sanwo-Olu banned operators of commercial motorcycles (okada) and tricycles against riding on highways; as well as indiscriminate parking of vehicles on the roadside, adding that anyone caught violating it will be prosecuted. “We are not going to condone people obstructing our roads. I am warning all those parking their vehicles on the roads to remove them before government impound the vehicles”, he said.

...warns residents against closure of roads
Likewise, Lagos State Government has warned residents against indiscriminate closure of roads by communities and construction companies without recourse to the Ministry of Transportation for approval.
According to a press release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Dr. Taiwo Olufemi Salaam, cautioned against the trend; stated that Section 44 (2) of Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018 grants right to only Honourable Commissioner or Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation to approve road closure.
The release stated further that it is a serious offense for any individual or group, company or contractor, representatives of any ministry or LGA to close road without recourse to the Transportation Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary urged members of the public to allow easy access and free flow of traffic on the roads, saying the state government will not leave any stone unturned in dealing severely with anyone found guilty of unauthorized closure of road.
