Nigerians in USA beg FG to stop installation of 5G
A group called Concerned Nigerians in Diaspora, living in United States of America, USA, has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, to stop any attempt to install 5G technology in Nigeria, over health and safety concerns.
The group in a petition copied the Minister of Health, Senate President, Speaker of House of Representatives, among others, in three pages petition, stated that it was reported that 5G technology which was originated from China could be installed in Lagos.
According to the petitioners: ''We call your attention to the fact that Nigerians at this critical time do not need 5G on people’s lives. Therefore, any attempt to install 5G technology should be terminated immediately. We, the concerned Nigerian Diaspora group in the United States of America, demand that for the safety and health of Nigerian citizens at this uncertain COVID-19 pandemic time should be of prime importance. Therefore, the government must thoroughly ensure and implement all immigration protocols before any foreign governments, businesses and tourists enter Nigeria.''
The petition signed by eight leaders of the group including Bishop Stephen Aghahowa, Dr Samuel Enyia, Yemisi Onayemi and Dr Sweet Mordi, recalled its concern about the suspicious presence of Chinese medical doctors, comprising experts in infectious disease, respiratory disease, intensive care, cardiology, neurology, general surgery and anaesthesiology in Lagos, shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak which originated from Wuhan City in China, and has spread worldwide.
Among others, the group said “the most troubling and critical questions regarding the Chinese doctors’ presence in Nigeria are: If the Nigerian government did not invite the Chinese doctors, how did they get entry into Nigeria? How did they bypass the security clearance protocol?
“Why didn’t the Nigerian Immigration officials get involved in giving them clearance at the ports of entry into Nigeria? What role did the Nigerian Ambassador in China play in this seemingly suspicious mission to Nigeria? The Nigerian government is obligated to explain the intricacies of this Chinese mission to Nigerians.”
