Dele Odebiyi passes on

Late Dele Odebiyi
The Odebiyi family of Gbongan in Osun State has announced the death of their son, late Pa Rufus Bamidele Olaboye Odebiyi, after a brief illness.

Pa Odebiyi, a journalist of repute and former Chairman of the Lagos State council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, was editor of Africa magazine, Lagos Weekend and the pioneer editor of Headlines, and also a lecturer at the defunct Times Journalism Institute, all of the old Daily Times stable.

Pa Odebiyi died at the age of 77 and has since been buried. He is survived by his wife, Adenike Elizabeth; children, Mrs. Abimbola Kareem, Yemi, Olumide, and grandchildren.

Corpses of 6 police officers killed by herdsmen recovered

CORPSES of some of the killed police officers drafted from IRT Abuja, PMF 51 Oghara and Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Asaba in Delta State to rescue three missing officers in Ohoror community, have been recovered by a combined team of security agents and the local vigilantes in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
