Oshodi-Isolo LGA tasks Mkts leaders on cleanliness
TO ensure markets in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area are free from environmental hazards and outbreak of epidemics, the Special Adviser on Environment, to the council boss, Hon. Yusuf Adesanya, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Abiola Oladipupo and Environmental officers charged the market leaders to keep their markets clean always. The advice came during the council’s representatives meeting with Oshodi market leaders at Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji Modern Market, Kairo, where deliberations and consensus were reached on how to make markets in Oshodi clean.
The market leaders also used the medium to express their challenges to the council representatives, while assurances were given to them on quick intervention by the government. Oladipupo urged the market leaders to pay their security bills on time for adequate security in the Market.
Mr. Oyekanmi, advised the market leaders to pay their dues to the approved bank by the LG authority to avoid corruption; adding that, “the council would prosecute anybody who gives bribe or encourage corruption. We should keep our refuse properly to avoid environmental hazard”.
The Baba-Oloja General of Oshodi, Alhaji Rasaq Sanni (Provider) assured the local government representatives of their cooperation, while Iya-Oloja of the market, Alhaja Adejoke Adebesin, reiterated the commitment of her association to the prompt payment of taxes in support of the LGA’s programme.
