This award has added to Ronaldo’s  fame and numerous awards he has received before. The Portuguese striker and Juventus forward, who has won Balon d’or award five-time, smiled on stage in Dubai as he was named the Greatest Football Player from 2001 to 2020. It was gathered that Ronaldo was picked as the best player of the century because of his consistent on field and scoring. The 35-year-old Ronaldo scored 44 goals for club and country this year 2020. While Messi scored only 26 goals both for Barcelona and Argentina this year. Lagos CAN approves cross over service

Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter  has approved cross over night service for churches in the state.  In a statement by its chairman, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, said, the overwhelming enquiries and agitations by many Churches and Christians in Lagos necessitated the need for the approval. Adegbite, however, urged churches in the state to follow all Covid-19 protocols to prevent the spread of the virus. He said: “There will be cross-over night service on December 31, 2020, in many Churches that    observe the annual service. However, it must be noted that the curfew imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic is a Federal Government directive. Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Dr Shuaib M.L. Belgore, who stated this on Wednesday in Abuja; added that the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government. The minister felicitated with Christians and all Nigerians both at home and abroad on this year’s Christmas and New Year Celebrations. FG to shutdown 3rd Mainland bridge from Saturday

*Partially closes Lagos-Ibadan expressway for 48 hrs Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mr Olukayode Popoola, has announced a 72-hour total closure of the Third Mainland Bridge to cast concrete on three expansion joints from Saturday to midnight on Tuesday. Popoola, who spoke to  NAN in Lagos, added that construction works had reached the stage for casting concrete on additional three expansion joints. He said: “There is going to be total closure of Third Mainland Bridge to allow for the casting of three number expansion joints on the Island Bound lane “The effective date of the closure will be from 12 midnight of December 25. So people will be allowed to use the Third Mainland Bridge to celebrate Christmas. “By the time the Christmas is winding down, which is 12 midnight, we are going to close it so that we will be able to cast the concrete on Saturday, the 26th and 27th we cast again. “And we need about 72 hours for this concrete to set.
