A new statement from the family of actor John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, disclosed that one of his legs had been amputated to keep him alive. News surfaced in October that the veteran actor was ill and required financial assistance to aid in his treatment. In the statement shared on the actor’s Instagram page yesterday, it was revealed the actor had undergone seven successful surgeries, including the amputation of one leg, in a bid to keep him alive. The statement read: “Good afternoon, Nigerians. A 200-level University of Port Harcourt, Uniport, female student has been found dead in her off campus apartment in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. The student,  identified as Adaeze, was said to be of the Facility of Social Sciences, studying Accounting.  According to a source, her remains were found in her off campus residence with bottle of a yet to be identified substance. This  is coming less than few weeks after one Damian Okoligwe, a 400-level student of the same institution in the Faculty of Engineering allegedly killed her former lover, Justina Otuene, a 300-level student of Biochemistry, in the same university. Confirming the development, Dean of Student Affairs, Uniport, Prof. Chima Wokocha, noted that the lifeless body of the student was found in her off campus residence and brought to a health facility in the school by her neighbours. According to the Head, Media and Publicity of EFCC, Dele Oyewale, the operatives were in the college to authenticate the address and identity of one Azeez Oluwakemi, who stood as a surety for Alakinde Kolawole, a suspected internet fraudster in the custody of the commission.  Oyewale alleged that students and staff of the college went on a frenzy of attacks against operatives of the EFCC, who were on an authorized assignment.
